Description:
Youth Education and Recreation formed primarily to promote recretaional facilities in Cando. Namely, operation of Cando All Seasons Arena is under the direction of the Cando Hockey Boosters.This program is affiliated with the North Dakota Amateur Hockey Association and is available for area youth thru age 18. The organization provides all equipment necessary to particiapate with the exception of ice skates and sticks. A nominal fee is necessary to participate but may be waived upon request.

Youthworks

Description:
Youthworks provides a comprehensive range of services for youth and their families to meet goals for strong healthy relationships. Subsidized transitional housing is available for homeless youth to help build a "nest egg" to bridge the gap to independence. The Runaway Center program is to return runaways to their homes or other appropriate placements and to provide the services necessary to prevent running away. The diversion program is set up to prevent youth from entering the juvenile justice and child welfare system by providing assessment, case management and a mix of individual and family services. Turnabout is an afterschool program for grades 7-10 providing supervision, tutoring, counseling and recreation for high risk youth with referrals made through schools and youth serving agencies. Youthworks also provides short term counseling to help youth and families find appropriate solutions to conflict. This service is based on ability to pay.
