Christmas In April is a one-day "blitz" held the last Saturday in April. It provides home repair assistance to low-income elderly and/or disabled homeowners. The service is supported by contributions of time, labor, materials and money and uses volunteers to complete the repairs at no cost to the homeowner. Referrals should be made by December 31st.

The Resource Center is a nonprofit capacity building program for nonprofit organizations and rural communities in North Dakota. It is a division of the North Dakota Community Foundation that operates with support from the Otto Bremer Foundation and fees for services. Description:
The Bismarck Ronald McDonald House is a "home away from home" for families of seriously ill children receiving medical treatment at any of the Bismarck/Mandan hospitals or clinics. The House serves families of children ages newborn through 18 years. The Bismarck Ronald McDonald House has eight guest rooms that can accomodate up to four persons and equipped with a private bathroom. Common areas include a large kitchen, great room and family room, play areas, game room, free laundry, library, sun room, and gazebo and deck. The House is a cooperative living environment, and all guests are expected to asist with simple cleaning and housekeeping tasks. Prepared meals are not provided, but donated food is available. Families are asked to pay $10.00/night based upon their ability to pay. However, no one is turned away due to inability to pay. Admissions to the House are handled through local hospitals, clinics and social service agencies.
