Mayville State University Child Dev. Program, After-School Program
330 3rd St NE
Mayville, ND 58257
Description:
The CHEERS program is available to children, kindergarten through sixth grade, at the elementary schools in Mayville & Hillsboro. We believe children are often 'over-programmed' and 'over-controlled' and no longer having the luxury of simply being just kids. Many need a break to 'unwind' and 'unpack' the events of the day. The goal of the program is not to provide more structured activities that children must participate in, but rather to provide an environment which will allow them to make appropriate choices during this "free time." Children will have the opportunity for indoor and outdoor play, snacks, organized enrichment activities, quiet time and supervised homework time. Parents are billed for the scheduled hours that the child is receiving childcare, according to the fee agreement signed. Enrollment forms must be completed for all children enrolled in the childcare program before care can be given.
Hours:
3:30 pm - 6:00 pm
Contact: Yvonne Ulland Phone: 701-788-4868 Fax: 701-788-4781 E-Mail: Yvonne.Ulland@mayvillestate.edu

The program offers childcare services for children ages six weeks through kindergarten at the Mayville and Hillsboro sites, from 7:00am - 6:00pm. The classrooms reflect the Creative Curriculum philosophy and an environment that is structured is a way that supports all areas of development. We believe children learn as they play, therefore they use experimentation, inquiry, observation, play and exploration. Opportunities are provided for creative self-expression such as art, music, movement and dialogue. The following are policies which apply to childcare children; parents are billed for the scheduled hours that the child is receiving childcare, according to the fee agreement signed and enrollment forms must be completed for all children enrolled in the childcare program before care can be given.
