Dakota Estates, Inc., is a non-profit, community-owned corporation dedicated to providing both elderly and handicapped persons with adequate housing and services designed to meet their needs and to promote their health, security, happiness and usefulness in longer living. Dakota Estates also houses a services coordinator whose job it is to link the elderly and disabled with services in the community that can help them with their needs and answer questions regarding Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, etc. The service coordinator is also a Senior Health Insurance Counselor.

Provide education to retail businesses and organizations regarding the skills and knowledge needed to deal with disabled and senior citizens. Advertise and ask for referrals from disabled and senior citizen organizations to help people in need qualify for benefits such as transportation, heat assistance, wheelchairs, walkers, prescriptions, etc. Help people that do qualify fill out the paper work necessary to receive services or benefits. For people that do not qualify but have an urgent need for a service, prescriptions or other products, provide these to the extent of the money the corporation has available. Help disabled and senior citizens find employment to supplement present benefits such as disability payments or social security payments.

DIVERT provides an alternative to Juvenile Court involvement for youths through a short-term family-based casework model, bringing together the family's strengths and community's resources to increase support services and strengthen the family unit. Domestic Violence and Rape Crisis Center

There is no application process. DVRCC provides advocacy, crisis counseling, information and referral, assistance with obtaining protection orders, support groups, a 24 hour toll-free crisis line and public education. These services are for victims of domestic and sexual violence and their families and friends. DVRCC also house families homeless for any reason. Walk-ins are welcome. All services, including shelter are free of charge. Staff maintains absolute confidentiality.
